Day 1
Day 1
Today was a big day for us, the 3rd-year students, as we kicked off our On-the-Job Training (OJT) orientation. The morning was all about getting down to the basics of work ethics and understanding the seriousness of sexual harassment. The speaker started with a talk on work ethics, stressing how important it is to be honest, responsible, and professional. They shared stories that really showed how having strong work ethics can shape our careers positively. Then we moved on to the topic of sexual harassment, which was super important and quite eye-opening. We learned how to recognize, prevent, and deal with it, making sure we know how to keep our work environment safe and respectful.
In the afternoon, we headed to the local police station, and that was a totally different experience. Ma'am Catagi took over and gave us a thorough rundown of the essential rules and guidelines we need to follow during our OJT. She talked about safety protocols, reporting procedures, and how we should conduct ourselves at the station. But it wasn’t just about rules; she also shared what the daily life of a police officer is like and the challenges they face. Ma'am Catagi passion and dedication were really inspiring, and it made us realize the important role the police play in keeping everyone safe.
By the end of the day, we were all buzzing with new knowledge and insights. The morning’s sessions on work ethics and sexual harassment gave us a solid foundation, and the afternoon at the police station gave us a real feel for the environment we’ll be working in. This orientation was more than just lectures; it was a crucial experience that prepared us for what’s ahead. Now, we feel more confident and ready to start our OJT journeys, equipped with the lessons we’ve learned to make a positive impact in our future workplaces.
